Romans 2:12-29, A Matter of the Heart

Much of what passes as Christianity, is really sub-Christian. The end goal of the gospel is not to make people nice or better, but to save sinners under the condemnation of a holy God. That is a harder message for people to hear, but the truth that is tough, is better than an easy lie. This passage points to the fact that the heart is the target of the gospel. If the heart is captured, the behavior follows. I reference Tullian Tchividjian's book, Jesus + Nothing = Everything as he makes a great point about the existence of front door legalists and back door legalists.
