A basic question in faith matters is, "What is the gospel?" The question is so basic we may assume we already know the answer. Many Christians betray their misunderstanding of the good news by the way they live. The Apostle John weaves together three elements of the gospel in his second letter: the truth, love, and obedience. All three come together for a fuller understanding of the gospel which transforms our hearts and leads us again to the foot of the cross.
