Titus receives instructions in these verses to further safeguard consistency between belief and behavior. There are commands for older men, older women, younger women, and younger men. Self-control is mentioned or implied in each of these groups. Through obeying these commands and seeing godly behavior manifested in the church community, each generation has a contribution to kingdom living.
