The way toward a church becoming a healthy community rests in the hope of reconciliation. If Christ can reconcile sinners with a holy God (see Romans 5:8-11), then he can surely reconcile fellow sinners with each other. For the early church, instructions about slaves and masters becomes the way for us to relate well in the marketplace and work place. There is a call in these verses to relate well to the truth. Information must lead to transformation not to theological pride or arrogance (1 Corinthians 8:1).
