Continuing in the previous week's passage, these verses continue to explain the qualifications of elders. Ultimately, Jesus Christ does the work of qualifying elders because only he can work in the lives of men to see them express the qualifications in 1 Timothy 3. These characteristics are not just for elders, but for all Christians as well. I spend considerable time explaining what the husband of one wife means. I also take on the Hill Country problem of alcohol dependency and how this unhealthy dependency can be dealt with.
