We can take great assurance that God's purposes can never be thwarted. Here in this passage Jesus faces a corrupt court but God's purposes still move forward. In his interaction with the Sanhedrin, Jesus shows us how we can deal with evil on a corporate scale. Sin affects institutions as well and Jesus shows us how we can respond redemptively.
